Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
